Email marketing in 2012
The last 12 months have demonstrated the potential for email marketing to become a hugely effective tool in our marketing and campaign planning. By using an efficient and reliable email marketing system, combined with beautifully designed emails, we have really been able to discover the needs and wants of our client's customers.
By devising strategies to collect customer names and email addresses, in accordance with EU privacy regulations, we have been able to build large databases of recipients for these client emails. With these databases we are able to segment particular customers. For example, if we're asked to send out special offers or private invitations, we are able to identify and select the individuals who are eligible.
We usually send out our emails in conjunction with a particular event, such as a sales promotion or new campaign. The emails are designed in accordance with our client's requirements, but also showcase our skill as designers. Another benefit of this design and email system is the ability to personalise the emails with first names of each customer be they either in the title or the graphics of the email.
Within a small community like Jersey, where the population is becoming increasingly internet-savvy, it is an exciting time to communicate with customers through email. To date, our clients' emails have an average 60% open rate, and a 45% click through rate, which demonstrate that many people are beginning to take notice of what our clients are able to offer them.
The email system we have in place allows us to see who opened the email that was sent them, and where they opened it. We are also able to see what elements of the email they are interested in by seeing what they clicked through to on the sender's website. This allows us to further segment the database and really get into the mindset of the customer, which is a most valuable place to be.
If you feel that your company would benefit from email marketing within the island, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
