A licence to print money

It’s often been said that advertising is a licence to print money and unfortunately we now have to agree.

Earlier on in the year we became officially minted when our Jersey 1204-2004 logo and illustrations RUBBED SHOULDERS WITH THE QUEEN on the special edition pound notes. It was a fantastic honour for THE IDEA WORKS and a credit to our team that our work appears in a place historically reserved only for a chosen few.

Forget about the late nights, obscene deadlines and living with the knowledge that however indecisive the client maybe, they are always right ! These days, you're only judged by your money, so I suppose ours is not a bad business to be in.

Aims
To mark an enormously significant year in Jersey’s history
To provide all participants with an “official” brand
To provide guardianship of the brand

Solution
To devise a brand toolkit for the year-long activity
To oversee all brand activity

Results
A successful years memorably branded activity

Comment
There’s not many designers or agencies whose work has been reproduced on their national currency, so we are very proud to hold this honour. In truth, I think this was more about art for money than money for art.
