Having originally graduated from Cardiff University with a degree in Art, he has over 25 years’ experience in the advertising industry and has also held a number of sales and marketing roles. Richard works with a wide range of clients and manages accounts with Active, Close Finance, Jersey Electricity, Islands, Jersey Heritage and Seymour Hotels. Interesting fact: Richard once scrummed down opposite Welsh front row legend Graham Price (he’s still feeling the bruises even now!)

Martyn is the co-founder of The Idea Works and has been its creative director since 1997. Having worked in advertising for 25 years, he has produced successful campaigns for clients across the retail, leisure and finance sectors. In recent years, he has guided the company to several prestigious design awards, including winning web design and marketing literature awards for Jersey Tourism and Jersey Royal new potatoes.

A hugely experienced conceptualiser, designer and copywriter, Martyn provides the creative sparks that unleash the magic and energy of the design team, overseeing each project and ensuring that every campaign not only looks great, but achieves its strategic objectives.

Interesting fact: Martyn once won a Blue Peter badge for a children’s design competition - although he did have an advantage as he was born with six fingers.

Her positive and professional attitude is appreciated by both staff and clients and she enjoys the challenge and variety of assisting the studio and management team.

Interesting fact: Zoe used to work in the hotel and conference industry and has met lots of interesting and famous people (but doesn’t like to ‘name drop’).

Margaret has been working for The Idea Works for over ten years and was recruited by the directors the day she officially retired from her previous job in the fleet control department of La Motte Ford. She now heads up the accounts department so, hopefully, you won’t be speaking to her anytime soon.

Interesting fact: Margaret is actually Martyn’s mum, or should that be ‘Mamma Mia’ as she bears more than a passing resemblance to Julie Walters.

Having studied Graphic Design at Bristol UWE, Luc came back to the Island and began working in internet retail. Later freelancing as a designer for various clients most notably for charities, events in the arts and his independent clothing shop ‘Crapaud Wear’. Twelve years later having now been forgiven for allowing the office goldfish to die during his project trident in 2002, he's made his return to The Idea Works.

Interesting fact: If you were wondering where you may have seen him before; Luc used to dress as a robot and play keytar with his brother on guitar and synths, together they were called ‘Brobots!’ Their claim to fame was having one of their tracks played on BBC Radio1 at 2 a.m.

Interesting fact: When she was in primary school Abbie won a competition, which was to create an illustrated advertisement for Aquasplash, ever since then she knew she wanted to be a designer.
