Richard started The Idea Works with Martyn Aubert in 1997. Having originally graduated from Cardiff University with a degree in art, he has nearly 20 years' experience in the advertising business and has also held a number of sales and marketing roles. Richard has since combined his creative and management skills to help mould the company into one of the largest agencies in the Channel Islands.
He has worked with a wide range of clients and still manages the Jersey Tourism, States of Jersey and Visa accounts.
Interesting fact: Richard once scrummed down opposite Welsh front row legend Graham Price (he's still feeling the bruises even now!)

Martyn is the co-founder of The Idea Works and has been its creative director since 1997. Having worked in advertising for 25 years, he has produced successful campaigns for clients across the retail, leisure and finance sectors. In recent years, he has guided the company to several prestigious design awards, including winning web design and marketing literature awards for Jersey Tourism and Jersey Royal new potatoes.
A hugely experienced conceptualiser, designer and copywriter, Martyn provides the creative sparks that unleash the magic and energy of the design team, overseeing and ensuring that every campaign not only looks great but achieves its strategic objectives.
Interesting fact: Martyn once won a Blue Peter badge for a children’s design competition although he did have an advantage as he was born with six fingers.

Adam started at The Idea Works in April 2002 as a junior designer and has since become an integral part of the team. Whether you need something designed, webbed or quoted, Adam is your man.
Interesting Fact: Adam used to be the face of the Portman ID Campaign to stop sales of alcohol to under age drinkers. The downside was that no-one would serve him.
Joanne Holmes (Senior Designer)

Jo is an extremely versatile and talented art director and illustrator. She has worked on local, national and international accounts producing designs and illustration for clients such as Barclays Bank, St.George Bank in Australia (part of the Westpac Group), Blevins Franks, Jersey Telecom, Jersey Tourism, Le Lievres, ELC and Lloyds Bank among others.
She was also a major contributor to the branding and design for the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia.
Interesting fact: Jo’s dog Whiskey was in the opening sequence of Brookside.
Paula Hindley (Senior Designer)

After completing her design degree back in 1989, Paula started her design career in London working for a fine art publishing company with links to Sotheby's and Christie's, as well as working on various freelance contracts. In 1993, she returned to the island and joined Stewart Redway where she worked on a number of high profile accounts (including Jersey Telecom and Le Riche's Stores) before moving to another local agency, TSL.
She joined The Idea Works in October 2000 and since then has worked on various accounts including the States of Jersey, Pentera Trust and Jersey Tourism, for which she has been pivotal in the company winning several international awards for brochure design.
Interesting Fact: A few years ago Paula’s painting of Mont Orgueil Castle was chosen to go on the cover of the Jersey telephone directory.
Chris Elligott (Communications Manager)

Chris graduated from the LCP in 1986 with a BA (Hons) in Media and Production Design. Following ten years at two London consultancies, where he created corporate identity and literature for clients such as CIBSE, NatWest, the Chemical Industries Association and the London Docklands Development Corporation, he moved to Jersey as creative director at AEA.
In 2001, he left to go freelance - setting up Brilliant Design Consultants - as well as acting as creative director at Focus Design. He joined The Idea Works in 2007.
With a particular emphasis on brand and corporate identities, literature and advertising campaigns, locally Chris has created for The Salty Dog, Bank of Ireland, PSD Water Resources, The Opera House, Jersey Arts Trust, Jersey Pottery, Key Trust, Jersey Goldsmiths, Jersey Electricity, Cimandis and Newtel.
His role as communications manager combines Chris's design experience with the opportunity to further enhance creative communication throughout the company and, in turn, increase the end value to the client.
Interesting fact: Chris’s Fantasy League team ‘Captain Nemo and the Supersubs’ featured in a celebrity cup competition on the Baddiel and Skinner TV show ‘Fantasy Football League’ before being knocked out by Patsy Kensit.

After completing a design degree, Jason initially worked as a freelance designer and illustrator before returning to university to study for a masters degree in IT. He joined The Idea Works in 2003. Jason's clients have included Ashburton, RBSI, Jersey Tourism, States of Jersey and many others.
Interesting Fact: Jason once played a game of rugby against an Edinburgh side that included both of the legendary Hastings brothers....(Ayr lost 71-0).

Before moving to Jersey, Adam had worked in London, Birmingham and Los Angeles (which is also his birthplace). Living in both the US and the UK has given Adam the opportunity to work on a number of international brands including Eurostar, Transport for London, The Body Shop, Disney Store, Warner Brothers, Sainsbury's and Marks & Spencer.
Interesting Fact: Adam once owned former world champion of surfing Mark Occhilupo's board (he also shares the same birthday).

Margaret has been working for The Idea Works for over five years and was recruited by the directors the day she officially retired from her previous job in the fleet control department of La Motte Ford. She now heads up the accounts department so, hopefully, you won't be speaking to her anytime in the near future.
Interesting Fact: Margaret is actually Martyn’s mum, or should that be 'Mamma Mia' as she bears more than a passing resemblance to Julie Walters.

A highly organised and conscientious administrator, Zoe has a broad range of skills, a strong customer focus and is a confident communicator. Zoe is also committee secretary for Creative Jersey.
Interesting Fact: Zoe used to work in the hotel and conference industry and has met lots of interesting and famous people (but doesn't like to 'name drop').

Interesting fact: Rebecca is a trained barrister and once appeared as a court junior in the TV series 'Judge John Deed'.

Interesting fact: Sharon was once offered a major role in ‘The Great Rock ‘n’ Swindle’ but politely refused as it required her to “get her kit off” for a car promotion scene.
