It’s not that often we get to dip-our-toes into TV, but the current work we’re doing for local insurance specialists Islands gave us a perfect opportunity.
The latest development of the Islands brand combines illustrated elements with photographic, producing a quirky but highly distinctive look that works really well when communicating the products and services Islands provide.
The logical next step for us was to bring this to life in a series of short, 10 second TV ads, using local actors, locations and working alongside the team at Channel TV to make this happen.
The Idea Works team came up with the storyboard and script for five ads, covering home and contents, motorcycle, motor and business insurance, we then drew up all elements required, such as cats, dogs and motorbikes which would be very skillfully edited in at a later stage.
It was a challenge for the film crew and actors to envisage where the illustrated objects would actually be and to walk around imaginary pumpkins and hazard triangles. Once the graphic top and tails had been added along with the voice overs we were ready to go on air with a series of well planned slots on Channel TV, pan island and some 20 second versions on the ITV Hub with Jersey and Guernsey specific calls to action.
We think the ads look great, take a look and see what you think?
