SOUTHAMPTON BOAT SHOW DISPLAY

TIW recently worked with Jersey Marinas to design and produce their showcase stand for the 2017 Southampton Boat Show.

 

Jersey Marinas were partnering up for the first time with the APPB (Association of Ports de Plaisance de Brittany) as well as Normandy and the stand was to be placed in a prime location in the Ocean Hall under its banner headline “Welcome to the finest cruising playground in Northern Europe”. There was also the opportunity to incorporate a local startup business who had developed a new App that aims to assist navigators to make the most of the cruising ground throughout the south coast and Norman Bretagne region.
 
The design and project management of the stand build started earlier in the year meeting representatives from the French regions as well as Mike Tait and the team from Jersey Marinas. Each partner had their own area but the stand out graphic was a  3 x 4M detailed map of the Channel Islands and France highlighting the marinas in Normandy and Brittany. 
 
Richard Lumborg from TIW coordinated the project and worked with the same production team that successfully delivered the recent Jersey Heritage 1980’s exhibition. Richard commented  “although based in Jersey we had the problem of communicating with partners in different locations and overseeing a build in the UK. It stretched our resources at times but we managed to deliver the project on time and within budget.”
 
The Southampton Boat Show is a magnet for boating enthusiasts and therefore was the perfect event to promote Jersey Marinas facilities. Early indications appear to show strong attendance, record numbers of visitors on the water and encouraging sales reports.
 
Mike Tait who is responsible for Jersey Marinas and the stand at Southampton, commented, “ Having worked with Richard and his team before we had every confidence in them, the challenges, particularly the management of non-English partners were met to everyone’s satisfaction. The French partners were delighted which confirms a hugely exciting strategic partnership formed to market the entire Norman Breton Gulf. A lot was riding on this and The Idea Works delivered. It is always a pleasure to deal with everyone in the team who genuinely do go that extra mile…and some!”
 
 
We hope our stand design attracted all the right attention for this popular event.
