Southampton Boat Show

In 2017 TIW worked with Jersey Marinas to design and project manage a stand for the Southampton Boat Show. Jersey Marinas were partnering up for the first time with the APPB (Association of Ports de Plaisance de Brittany) as well as Normandy and the stand was to be placed in a prime location in the Ocean Hall under its banner headline “Welcome to the finest cruising playground in Northern Europe”.

The show is the perfect opportunity for Jersey Marinas to showcase their facilities to a captive audience while working closely with their marina partners to promote mutual cruising waters. This prestigious show attracts tens of thousands of visitors over a 10 day period and was also celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.

We were delighted to be asked to update the new stand for 2018 which also welcomed Guernsey and Alderney on board and re-designed overall to give more graphic space and literature stand whilst freeing up a central area for customers to browse. Flooring at the front of the stand illustrates the coastal theme, depicting beautiful sandy beaches and clear waters to reflect the finest cruising ground in Northern Europe complete with fish, jelly fish, shell fish and a hidden message in a bottle. Footprints in the sand lead from the water into a store cupboard. Tables and seating were selected and arranged with the option of low or high settings and Pods were constructed for information breakout areas.

The large display map panel we previously helped design was updated and expanded this year to include the French Canal system.

We were delighted to receive these comments last year from Mike Tait who is responsible for Jersey Marinas and the stand at Southampton Boat Show. “ Having worked with Richard and his team before we had every confidence in them, the challenges, particularly the management of non-English partners were met to everyone’s satisfaction. The French partners were delighted which confirms a hugely exciting strategic partnership formed to market the entire Norman Breton Gulf. A lot was riding on this and The Idea Works delivered. It is always a pleasure to deal with everyone in the team who genuinely do go that extra mile…and some!”
