On the 1st March 1997, The Idea Works first opened their doors for business. A Jersey-based full-service design and communications agency, we at The Idea Works deliver creative and marketing solutions to local, national and international clients.

Twenty years on, we have delivered award-winning projects and campaigns for big name brands across the finance, tourism, leisure, retail and Government sectors; forging a reputation for innovative design and creative and strategic excellence.

The Idea Works are delighted to announce the winner of the TIW20 awards as Brighter Futures.

The judges were so impressed with the incredible work Brighter Futures does in trying to break the intergenerational cycle of disadvantage and support for families to engage in life changing opportunities, especially in time of difficulties and challenges and believe the prize would have immense value to the charity, helping to present a fresh and professional image as they move into their 10th anniversary and promote awareness of the vital work they undertake.

When the winner was announced Ruth Brunton, Chief Executive Officer commented “ Brighter Futures are thrilled to have been selected for the TIW20 award. This wonderful opportunity to work with The Idea Works and benefit from their creative and marketing expertise will help us to develop a legacy and continue to help more families who face difficulties or challenges here in Jersey.”

Richard Lumborg chairman of the Judging panel commented “Having received 31 entries, making a shortlist of four was a challenging judging process. To then choose an eventual winner was extremely difficult. All entrants showcased the fantastic work that local charities carry out every day”

The judges were so impressed with all four finalists that in addition to the main prize The Idea Works and The Jersey Evening Post have decided to offer each of the three runners up, Jersey Recovery College, Aspire and Jersey Employment Trust a design and advertising package to the value of over £3,000.

Our four shortlisted charities for the TIW20 Awards:
Aspire Charitable Trust, Brighter Futures, Jersey Employment Trust, and Jersey Recovery College.

Aspire Charitable Trust aims to provide quality education, training, and employment opportunities for people with learning disabilities. Their vision is of an inclusive workforce, where people with learning disabilities can maximise their potential, be recognised for their skills, and be regarded positively and with respect.

Brighter Futures helps struggling families through difficult and challenging times by providing these families with the tools they need to change and safe-guard their future. The charity’s hope is to create a legacy of brighter futures for all the children on our beautiful island, no matter their background.

Jersey Employment Trust helps people with disabilities and long-term health conditions to secure work, through providing training and support. The charity also supports and guides employers in this quest. Through three social enterprises, Jersey Employment Trust provides a supportive and nurturing training environment along with employment opportunities for those who cannot compete within the open labour market.

Jersey Recovery College aims to provide hope, opportunity, and empowerment to people affected by mental health difficulties through free education and training opportunities. With their specially tailored courses, the charity wishes to enhance people’s knowledge and understanding of mental health conditions, recovery, wellbeing, and life skills, as well as help influence positive changes in mental health services.

Thank you to the below charities for your fantastic entries. Creating the shortlist was an incredibly tough decision for our judges and we want to thank all the charities for their hard work, which is why we have decided to list all the entrants below.
