Following Islands recent rebrand, we were tasked with giving their fleet a new lick of paint in both Channel Islands, plus a complete wrap for Guernsey Buses.

For the last few months, The Idea Works has been working with Islands Insurance to develop a new sales and marketing strategy, which was launched with the company’s successful rebranding as Islands earlier this month.
As with all our clients, we feel it’s important to really get to know how they work, how they view themselves, and, most importantly, how their customers feel about them.
So, the development of a new strategy has been informed not only by the intensive workshops we’ve held with the principal directors, but also by the market research we commissioned during 2015. Reassuringly, as well as showing very high customer service and retention figures, this research highlighted the importance of the company’s local identity, and accessibility, as one of its key strengths is that it has offices and informed staff in Jersey, Guernsey and Alderney.
Nevertheless, it became apparent from the feedback we received that, while overall customer satisfaction was high, the brand needed refreshing and updating.
The next step was to undertake a comprehensive brand audit and, following this, we then put in place a rollout plan for the new Islands brand, which would act as the launchpad for a new sales and marketing campaign.
All marketing materials and merchandising now feature its new corporate colours, logo and strapline ‘Taking care of tomorrow’, and all signage and stationery replaced ahead of the rebrand taking effect on Monday 14 March. We even took the opportunity to renegotiate the company’s stationery contract, and to secure them an improved deal.
In addition, we’ve undertaken a review of all existing sponsorship and CSR activity, a lot of which its customers and the wider community were unaware of. This forms part of the comprehensive advertising and communications plan we’ve put together for the rest of the year, to include radio, press, bus and, for the first time, online advertising.
After many years successfully working alongside Close Finance CI, we were delighted to have recently been approached to create a new joint brand and marketing collateral for a new venture they were entering into alongside Jersey Post.
This new service from Jersey Post Loans was launched in November and offers personal loans on site at the Post Office in Broad Street which, as part of Jersey Post's new Broad Street refurbishment now has a dedicated suite of offices where the Financial Services team can meet with clients in a private area. Applications for Personal Loans can also be made by phone or online to the dedicated team.
The Financial Services team currently consists of Olive, who has been working for Close Finance since 2008, and Tania from Jersey Post. Tania, originally from Madeira is also fluent in Portuguese as well as speaking a little Spanish. Olive's background is in business development and she will initially be overseeing Tania's new role.
Jersey Post offer a range of personal loans which can be used for home improvements, holidays or debt consolidation enabling their customers to spread the cost over fixed monthly instalments. As an extra incentive, there is also a special introductory offer of 0% set up fees making a Jersey Post loan an attractive proposition.
The Idea Works have used their vast experience of this sector to help launch the joint venture which is being marketed through a cross section of attractive and skilfully written online and print advertising, radio, posters and social media and is the start of exciting times ahead for Jersey Post... who knows what they might deliver next!
It was high time for a spruce up of the Health Plus website, bringing it up to date using the latest HTML5 and mobile optimisation.
As the site is an important first port of call for many Health Plus patients across the Island, the home page required a layout that allowed ease of navigation and straight forward easy access to the most regularly checked information for registering and making appointments.
Having decided the layout for the new site, the main navigational points including services in the header and footer were kept bold throughout every page of the website. Using the Health Plus blue and green brand colours we were able to create great contrasting buttons and open tabbed sections.
With the ever growing rise in mobile browsing, it was also important to have a mobile optimised site to boost engagement with Health Plus patients. Various research has shown that mobile optimised sites can boost user activity by almost double the usual traffic of a site without optimisation, and we're sure to see these benefits for Health Plus in the near future.
